IS NEW JERSEY AT WAR WITH ILLINOIS?

Recently New Jersey Governor Chris Christie traveled to Chicago in an effort to lure Illinois-based companies to the Garden State. He bashed Illinois’ business tax policies while touting positive changes in New Jersey’s business climate. New Jersey has also begun airing commercials in Illinois delivering that same message.

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is not taking kindly to Christie’s aggressive recruiting and he is none-too-happy with a New Jersey Governor taking potshots at Illinois. Quinn has started airing his own ads essentially saying Christie’s full of hot air. The advertisements are appearing in New Jersey newspapers. They point out New Jersey’s low business tax climate ratings and provide contact information for government business offices in Illinois.

Christie was just asked his reaction to the Illinois ads. His answer is very short and extremely to the point. Click here for Christie’s response.
