TREASURER REFUSES BUDGET COMMITTEE INVITE

New Jersey State Treasurer Andrew Sidmon-Eristoff was invited by Assembly Budget Committee chairman Lou Greenwald to testify Thursday morning before his panel. Greenwald was hoping to get the latest budget figures in advance of Governor Chris Christie's Budget Address which is scheduled for February 22.

The non-partisan Office of Legislative Services will present it's estimates, but the Treasurer has declined his invitation to testify although he did testify last year.

Greenwald says, "I hope the Treasurer's decision to decline this invitation doesn't indicate an antagonistic change in tenor toward this committee. I also hope he reconsiders his decision and decides to join us in this vital conversation."
