ASSEMBLYMAN COLLAPSES MID-INTERVIEW

Just minutes ago Assemblyman Peter Barnes collapsed as I was interviewing him about his resolution to amend the constitution to ask voters if they'd like set minumum standards before the state can privatize some services.

The Assemblyman became disoriented as I spoke with him and I asked him several times if he was okay. He said "yes," but then fell into me before falling backwards and fainting. A staffer was able to make sure the Assemblyman did not hit his head. We put hium in a chair where he alternated between being lucid and unresponsive. He told me hadn't been to the doctor for a while, is not taking medication and did have breafast this morning.

State Troopers and a nurse were called in and they helped the Assemblyman until the ambulance arrived. The Assemblyman refused to go to the hospital.
