The entire staff of New Jersey Network got layoff notices today. The layoffs will not happen if the network can find some funding from a source or sources which will no longer include the State of New Jersey.

In his State Budget, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie called for providing state funding only through January 1 for NJN. The subsidies run out in 45 days.

I watch NJN news when I can and occassionally appear on one of the networks programs. I'd be sorry to see it go under particularly because I've gotten to know many of the reporters and other employees. I like and respect them as colleagues and wish them the best of luck.
