ALL QUIET ON WEST STATE STREET

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is in the second week of his two week vacation. Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno has kept a pretty low profile in Christie's absence. This is the first time in New Jersey's history that a Lt. Governor is running the show because Guadagno is the first Lt. Governor this state has ever had.

Things will heat up Thursday when the State Senate Budget Committee convenes a hearing to explore more items in Christie's property tax-cutting "tool kit."

The panel will consider bills that would bar members of certain associations from enrolling in the state pension system, limit disciplinary appeals for unionized public workers and cap payouts unused sick days and vacation time.
