TIME TO MOVE ON FROM THE "RACE TO THE TOP" MESS?

When he first addressed the State House press corps about the "Race to the Top" application error, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie partially blamed the Obama Administration for letting a clerical mistake stand in the way of allowing the state to have a shot at $400 million in federal education grants. Christie also said State Education commissioner Bret Schundler claimed to have corrected the error in a personal interview with federal officials two weeks before the grants were awarded. The Governor insisted he wasn't going to fire anyone.

Last Thursday the Obama Administration released a video that contradicted Schundler's claims that he fixed the mistake in the personal interview. The following day Christie fired Schundler.

Schundler claims he never told Christie he corrected the error, but Christie insists that he did and now says that's why Schundler was fired. The Governor said, "Don't lie to the Governor. That's the message."

Christie alkso says it's time to move on, but an Assembly committee is still planning to hold a hearing on the issue next week.

Do you think it's time to move on?
