THE CLOCK IS TICKING ON THE SAME-SEX MARRIAGE BILL

New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine says if it gets to his desk brefore he leaves office, he'll sign a bill allowing gay marriage in the Garden State. Governor-elect Chris Chrsitie promises to veto the measure if it gets to his desk after he's sworn in on January 19th.

Assembly Speaker Joe Roberts vows to post the marriage equality bill for a full vote in his house of the legislature if and when the measure passes the full Senate. State Senate President Dick has indicated that he'll decide tomorrow (1/05/09) whether he'll post it or not.

By all accounts there are not enough votes to pass the bill in the State Senate. If it fails in the Upper House, it is unlikely Roberts will even bother to post it in the Assembly.

Any thoughts on what might happen?
